Progress
This image was a bit tough to work with because of the yellow tint that the image has due to original background and lighting. When choosing a new background image I know I wanted to go with warm colors to kind of help blend both images together. The image I took for the background was from Unsplash.com and I may end up choosing a different background if I can’t fully figure out how to get my extracted image to fully blend in. I see I still have to remove part of the yellow from the background that is found within her hair.
As for cropping my subject of the original image I had used the Quick Selection Tool and then had to invert my image and then “Select and Mask” to better detail my selections. Before this assignment a few weeks back I was watching Adobe Photoshop youtube tutorials on how to change a background in Photoshop and I know many of the skills for selecting my subject I used came from that tutorial: to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN-OSxI1XqM&t=735s  I found this video to be very helpful and would recommend to anyone else who wants to try to get more precise selections.
Final Piece
This is the final piece I put together. It was still a challenge getting the image to work together but I took some of the advice that was given to me and moved her more towards the left which helped with the lighting reflected on her original image. I also ended up adding a darker orange hue to her hair which helped her blend in even more with the background. I went in and darkened the background to give it a vintage feel while also throwing in a lens flare to help with bringing the image together. The flare went in hand with the quote to give it a magical/exploration feel. Found it to be challenging but still much fun project!
